In One Accord: 50 Days to Pentecost

Daily Devotional

Day 6 of 50 – Live Like It’s Finished

Scripture (NKJV):
John 19:30
“When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished!’ And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.”

Devotional Thought:
Three powerful words—“It is finished.” Not “it is started,” not “it is almost done,” but finished. In that moment on the cross, Jesus completed the work of redemption once and for all. Every sin paid for. Every chain broken. Every debt canceled.

Yet many of us still live as though the work is ongoing—as if we must earn what Jesus already secured. We carry guilt He already bore. We fight battles He already won. We strive for acceptance that has already been given.

To live like it’s finished means:

  • You walk in freedom, not condemnation
  • You stand in victory, not defeat
  • You receive grace, not earn it

“It is finished” is not just a statement—it’s an invitation. An invitation to rest in Christ’s completed work and live from a place of victory, not for it.

Today, shift your mindset. You are not trying to win—you are walking in a victory already won.

Journal Prompt:
Where in my life am I still striving instead of resting in what Jesus has already finished?
What would it look like for me to live today as if I truly believed, “It is finished”?

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the finished work of the cross. Thank You that You paid it all—every sin, every burden, every failure. Help me to stop striving and start resting in Your grace. Teach me to live in the freedom, victory, and identity You have already secured for me. When I feel tempted to go back to fear, guilt, or striving, remind me of Your words: “It is finished.”
Today, I choose to walk in that truth.
In Your mighty name, Amen.
