In One Accord: 50 Days to Pentecost

Daily Devotional

Day 13 of 50 – Sent with Peace and Purpose

Scripture (NKJV):
“‘So Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.’” — John 20:21

Devotional Thought:
The peace Jesus gives is not meant to end with you—it’s meant to move through you. After His resurrection, Jesus didn’t just comfort His disciples; He commissioned them. In the same breath that He spoke peace, He also released purpose.

This means your peace has a mission. The calm you’ve received in the middle of storms, the assurance that steadied your heart, and the presence of Christ that met you in hidden places—all of it is intentional. God restores you not only for your sake, but so others can encounter Him through your life.

You are sent. Not just to a location, but into relationships, conversations, environments, and moments where someone else needs what you’ve received. Your testimony carries weight because it is backed by the peace of Christ living within you. When you walk in that peace, you become a living witness of His presence.

Peace is not passive—it is active, mobilizing, and purpose-driven. As you go, you don’t go empty-handed; you go filled, equipped, and sent with divine intention.

Journal Prompt:
Who in your life needs to experience the peace you’ve received? How can you intentionally reflect Christ’s peace to them this week?

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the peace You have given me through Jesus Christ. Help me not only to receive it but to carry it into every place You send me. Use my life as a vessel of Your hope, encouragement, and truth. Give me boldness to live with purpose and sensitivity to the needs of others. Let Your peace flow through me so that others may encounter You. I am willing to be sent. In Jesus’ name, amen.
