Scripture: Colossians 3:15; Philippians 4:7
Discernment is more than gathering information—it is the ability to recognize God’s guidance in our decisions and hear His voice clearly amidst the noise. Today, we focus on peace as a confirmation of God’s will. Scripture reminds us: “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.”
When we pray and seek God’s guidance for our ministry property, we may encounter uncertainty. Different opinions, financial considerations, and timing pressures can stir anxiety. Yet God often confirms His direction not with fanfare or a sign on the wall, but through inner peace. That calm assurance, even in the midst of challenges, signals alignment with His plan.
Philippians 4:7 encourages us: “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Peace acts like a spiritual compass. When your heart feels settled, even in uncertainty, it may indicate that God’s hand is upon the decision. Conversely, when anxiety, restlessness, or confusion persists, it may be a signal to pause, pray, and seek further clarity.
Discernment also involves humility. It requires listening to God first, rather than relying solely on human reasoning or the pressure of deadlines. Peace doesn’t eliminate responsibility—it accompanies it, guiding our steps with clarity and confidence. In decisions about a ministry property, peace provides a filter for choices: which location, which terms, which timing aligns with God’s purposes?
