Week 4 – Unity: Preparing the People Before the Place
Friday, Day 24 – Praying in One Accord
Scripture: Acts 1:14; Matthew 18:19–20
Before the Church ever gathered in a building, it gathered in prayer. Acts 1:14 tells us the believers “all joined together constantly in prayer.” Unity in prayer preceded power, direction, and growth. As we fast and pray for a ministry property, God is calling us to come into one accord—not just physically together, but spiritually aligned.
Praying in one accord means more than saying the same words; it means sharing the same heart. When the people of God agree in faith, heaven responds. Jesus promises in Matthew 18:19 that when two agree on earth concerning anything they ask, it will be done by the Father. Agreement releases spiritual authority and invites God’s will to be established among us.
Fasting heightens our sensitivity to this kind of prayer. As distractions fade, our prayers become more focused, sincere, and unified. We begin to pray beyond personal needs and toward Kingdom purposes. Corporate prayer shifts our posture from individual petitions to shared intercession.
As a church, praying in one accord builds trust and strengthens relationships. When we hear one another’s prayers, we are reminded that we are not walking this journey alone. Faith becomes contagious. One person’s prayer of hope encourages another’s weary heart. Unity deepens as we seek God together.
Prayer also prepares us for stewardship. Before God releases greater responsibility, He aligns our hearts through prayer. The place we are believing for will require prayerful leadership, prayerful ministry, and a prayerful people. What we cultivate now will carry into the future.
Today, let us be intentional about praying together. Whether in person, in small groups, or individually at the same time, we can agree in spirit. Pray for unity, wisdom, favor, and clarity. Trust that God hears and responds when His people seek Him together.
Reflection/Application:
Set aside a specific time today to pray for the ministry property.
Reach out to someone and agree together in prayer.
Declare Matthew 18:19–20 over your church.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the power of united prayer. Align our hearts and minds as one body. Teach us to pray in agreement and faith, trusting You to move according to Your will. We lift this ministry property to You and ask for Your guidance, favor, and peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
